Kristin MacRae is not only a fabulous organizer but also the go to person for moving.
Last year, we used Kristin to help organize our condo. She was extremely helpful. We got rid of everything that we hadn't used in a year, and put all remaining items in the areas where they were the most useful. Everything was much easier to find and thus we felt much less stress and were clutter free.
This year as we are getting older, and my husband was not feeling well, we decided it was time to sell our condo in Florida and move up north closer to family. It sounded like a LOT of work to us to move. We didn't want to go back to Florida and pack up ourselves so we contacted Kristin and asked her if she would be willing to help us. "Of course", she said and immediately we felt a huge relief.
We held a Zoom video meeting with Kristin to let her know what furniture, etc we wanted to go to charity, our current northern condo, and our new independent living condo. That was the only instructions she needed.
Kristin asked if we would like her to pack boxes for us. Again, we felt a huge relief that she would be doing the packing. Knowing her organizational skills and her care for all of the items in our condo, we had absolutely no concerns. Kristin packed everything and marked each box where it needed to be taken by the moving company.
Our situation was a little complex as we had three places that boxes were being delivered: our current condo up north, our new independent living condo, and a storage facility. Kristin understood all of our plans and marked and color coded the boxes for the three different areas and stored them in three different places in our condo so that the movers knew exactly where to place items on the truck.
Our move was flawless and we have Kristin to thank for that. It was very stress free since we didn't have to fly roundtrip to Florida and rent a car which would have driven up expenses and caused us needless stress and some sadness trying to pack up everything and parting with a condo we had loved and with furniture that had been with us for many years that had memories of their own. Much, much, much easier to have Kristin, a very trusted person, do all of this for us.
Throughout the process, Kristin was very easy to contact, and if busy, she got right back to us. She is so thorough, so organized, so energetic, so strong, and so easy to get along with that we can't recommend her highly enough. She is also very organized with a computer and made us lists of everything she had boxed. She wrote the box number and the delivery place on each of these boxes. These lists were invaluable and will continue to be valuable as we move forward to place all contents in their correct place. Kristin was our project manager extraordinaire.
As far as monetary value, we could not have flown round trip, including tickets for our dog, rented a car, and eaten 3 meals a day (we probably would have eaten out a lot) for the amount that we paid Kristin.
Plus, toward the end of the project we changed our minds and had to tell Kristin that we had decided that certain objects that we had designated to be moved to one area now needed to go to another area. She didn't bat an eyelash, but instead revised the boxes to their new designations. (I am sure we would have crashed at that point if we were doing this move alone.) Meanwhile Kristin, always upbeat and energetic, finished the process smoothly and everything was delivered to the right place with no damage. In addition to all this, she is a delightful person to spend time with.
